Story
Helen Ferguson moved to Bute in the 1970s with with her husband, Stan, and three sons, Calum, Ewen, and Alasdair. She worked on the Island for many years as a nurse-midwife and was committed throughout her career to improving the health and welfare of Bute's residents.
On her 70th birthday, Helen established the Bute Community Palliative Care Fund, which provides support and equipment to Island residents in need of palliative assistance.
Helen passed away on Monday, January 2, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. In honor of her life's work, we have established this page to collect donations in lieu of flowers. We are grateful for any contributions. All contributions will be passed on directly to the Fund.
We are hopeful that in the future we can establish a more permanent way of contributing in Helen's honor.
With much gratitude,
The Ferguson Family
