Story
We rescued Bailey when we was a kitten after his mother was killed by a car.
Last Friday he went missing which is out of character for him. After several campaigns on social media, posting leaflets and putting up posters we managed to find him 4 days later! He was hit by a car who failed to stop which shattered his right leg into 3 pieces and his left leg had a clean break. Poor Bailey had managed to drag himself under a shed for cover. We instantly took him to the vets who explained they would be unable to operate and refered him to a specialist (the only one is South Wales).
We have now discovered the vets will not deal directly with the insurance company as they don't like to pay out and can take months to get payment. We are now finding out that we would be lucky to get back even half of the £4000 vet fees. We had to pay £1000 prior to the operation taking place and expected around £2500 before we can take him home.
We have been extremely reluctant to ask for help as we don't want to appear as a charity case for picking a poor insurance company. We are desperate to bring him home but need to raise the funds before that can happen.
If/When the insurance company pays out, we will not profit anything that was raised here but instead donate to a charities who can help people in our situation including any local shelters.
Thank you for taking the time to read and if you aren't able to donate then please could you share.

8 years agoThanks again to all who helped raise money and shared our cause. Bailey is doing well and recently has the staples taken out. The vets have said it's a miracle he can even walk again. Still a few more weeks of cage rest but should make a full recovery!

Today he had to have laser treatment and massage to treat the swelling and they will be doing the same tomorrow. Will keep you all updated. Thank you so much to everyone's who's donated and shared.
