    Story

Five young players from Brighton Baseball Club have been selected to represent the United Kingdom in the Under 10 coach pitch Supercup held in Prague on the 1-4th June 2017.

Sam Yates, Ruby Hilland, Euan and Ryan Gulliver and Harry Walsh-Black will travel to the Czech capital with their coach, Jon Gulliver, and their parents to join other UK team mates from clubs based in London, Leicester and Southampton.

The selection of Brighton Baseball club members for the national team is another huge coup for the nascent Brighton youth league, whose head coaches, Jared Hendrickson and Robin Banerjee, jointly received the Youth Coach of the Year award this January from Baseball Softball UK. The youth league was established in 2016 joining the well-established adult league.

Brighton’s young sluggers have been working hard in all kinds of weather to prepare for the tournament, giving up their bank holidays to practice with their UK teammates. Coach Jon Gulliver says, “This is an exceptional opportunity for our youngsters who have shown grit, determination, and importantly excellent sportsmanship. They are all developing into excellent players and we look forward to the challenge of competing at the international level.”

The costs of the trip are substantial. Please support the young players in this exciting opportunity and help the club defray the costs of their trip.
