'Do you mean Kentucky...chicken?' No Louisville, Kentucky USA!! For the Vex IQ Challenge World Championship's.

That's right, a team of children from Brampton Ellis Primary School located in the so called deprived ex mining village of Brampton Bierlow have defeated teams from around the UK to win their place in the World Finals!

What an amazing achievement... But that's not all. We are the first EVER UK Primary School to get this far in the competition, a slot usually filled by Secondary Schools. They have used Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths skills to knock out the competition and earn their place.

So what do we do? Do we say 'Well done kids, you did a great job, but the dream ends here.' Or do we believe they can - and should - travel to Louisville & compete against teams from around the world with their robot protégé? A fantastic robot they they built from scratch during their lunch breaks.

Where would you be now if someone encouraged, nurtured, taught and believed in you like the teachers at our school do?

So we had to do it. We have paid the registration fee & committed to sending the team to the Kentucky. The other Kentucky.

If you can dream it, you can achieve it & these children are engineers of our future.

We have raised a proportion of the funds needed with donations from James Montgomery Academy Trust, The Ellis Trust and the school itself, but we still need more to make this dream viable!
