Story
Hi all,
Our lovely little girl Bonnie was found by a railway tracks with her mum and litter mates.
We believe that because of where she was found, that her injuries (nose/jaw/leg/tail) were consistent with being hit by a train. However, our vet thinks a human may have done it... or part of it. Despite this, she bloody loves everyone and is the most confident and boisterous out of all our 5 fur-babies!
Bon arrived in the UK last spring, with the help of the amazing Beacon Animal Rescue (BARC).
A referral has been made to a specialist orthopaedic vet, however, she can't be insured and it has been estimated to cost between 3-5k just for her leg and between 1-2k for her nose - so any financial donations will be hugely appreciated!
We set up a Fundraising page when Bonnie first arrived last Summer, which raised 1700 (thank you so much to those who donated and shared), However, we still need more money - hence this new Just Giving Page!
All donations will go straight in to Bonnie's own bank account.
Thank you in advance!

8 years agoHi all! Thank you all so much for your donations! Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned - Bon had to have 2 ops the week before last to try to fix up her stump after splitting it open. We went back to the vets and it had got slightly infected and the vet recommended that we amputate it as it'll keep opening up. As well as that, she was in a lot of pain with it - screaming every time she knocked it. So on Tuesday, her stump was amputated. She's recovering well at home and hopefully she won't be in pain ever again - thanks to you!

8 years agoNot sure how much the amputation is going to cost, but I will keep you all informed and any money left over, will be donated to Beacon Animal Rescue Centre - or to Rebecca who runs it, whose dog also has to have his leg amputated due to damage caused after being attacked by other dogs. Unfortunately though, she puts all her money in to Beacon and can't afford to amputate Zig's leg - please let me know what you think?! Please let me know. I'm sorry we couldn't achieve what we all hoped for... we tried!! Thank you all so much again!

8 years agoHi all, So, it's been a dramatic week for Bonnie - 2 operations and a lot of pain. We took her back to the vets today and it seems the wound isn't healing as it should and will just keep reopening, so they have recommended amputation. Upsettingly, it seems like the only option - a prosthetic leg will only cause pressure sores and will lead to the wound to opening - not the outcome we wanted at all. She is booked in for Tuesday - so will keep you informed. I'm going to have to shut down the page so we can get the money in time...
