I've raised £6000 to buy a boat in memory of Bob Bridges 1933–2021

Bob was an amazing man who helped so many people throughout his life. He was a member of Peterborough City Rowing Club since the club started in 1948. He coached the adults for many years in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s and was the Junior Coordinator for 10 years from 2000-2010. In that time he brought on people like James Fox and Adam Neill who won at Henley in 2008 - a great achievement.
In his last few days we asked him if he needed any shopping, thinking there may be some food or drink that he would like. He said very firmly that he would like a boat. A very fast racing boat. We would like to honour that wish and get him a boat.
We know it is not only our loss and you grieve with us so please help us buy Bob a boat to be donated to Peterborough City Rowing Club.
Bob used to say you need to aim high. With that in mind we would like to raise money for a Filippi boat to help our rowers with the potential to reach National/International standards. I take the responsibility of spending the money we have raised for Bobs Boat very seriously. After much discussion this is the boat we would like to buy because the rowing club don't have a boat of this specification in their collection and it can help our rowers achieve their potential.
The boat costs approx £16,500. As a family we will be adding to all your donations.
I know that my dad would love this boat so please help me grant his last wish.
