During the last 2 years the children of our community have missed out on so many of the things we all used to take for granted.
Bonfire nights, trick or treating, Christmas parties, Carol's and nativity plays. Being with family and friends on birthdays, and family holidays. Its been a tough few years for us all, yet our youngsters remained resilient and took it in their stride. Thankfully now, we are hopefully seeing things slowly come back for them.
Since June 2021 a fundraising idea has been brought back to life. One which started, small with lights and trees, but since the pandemic, they decided to focus on one thing, lifting the Pleasley Christmas Spirit not only for the children but also for the community.
This fundraiser will bring magic back to the heart of the Pleasley community. An event that is aiming to light up the children's eyes with the magic of Christmas once again and give them something, to say thank you for being so amazing during what has been a tough time for everyone.
There is a small group of local volunteers in Pleasley who are tirelessly working day in and day out to raise funds to put on a wonderful Christmas Lights Switch on event in Pleasley Square. They have so many exciting plans and it sounds like it will be a wonderful day.

On 31/10/21, Billy aged 6 and I will be heading out around the local area on a 10 mile walk looking for the spirit of Christmas.... as xmas elves....Yes that's right Xmas elves 🙈🤣
10 miles is such a long way for a 6 year olds legs. So we are asking if you would kindly dig deep and sponsor him for his efforts and hopefully give him a big cheer on his travels.
All sponsor money will go directly to the lights fundraising and there'll be live updates throughout the day. We will be carrying a little collection bucket too for anyone who would like to stop us and throw in any loose change..every little helps.
