    Story

So she's going to absolutely kill me but a little maiming is well worth it...

A lot of people know Beverley - Vicky's Kitchen entrepreneur, champion of local businesses, mainstay at various evening events if soul etc is on the decks...

However most people probably won't be aware that Beverley, her husband Ian and daughter Leeah's lives changed just a few weeks ago. Ian was rushed into hospital with blood clots and after surviving emergency surgeries, was diagnosed with antiphospholipod syndrome, which is a rare autoimmune illness that causes blood clots.

Unfortunately, despite all best efforts, the surgeons were unable to save his right leg and it has been amputated just under the knee.

All of this has been going on and yet the strength, resilience and dignity all three have shown is absolutely remarkable. Beverley has somehow managed to juggle daily hospital visits and kept life as positive and stable for Leeah, who at only nine years old, was a standout star at the recent Northampton carnival.

But life has changed for them and although the main focus so far has been on the medical side, living in a terraced house and sharing a car means that financially, they are going to need help to adapt to their new routine. Ian will require various changes in order to be able to return home, have the ability to rest and recover and live comfortably. He's also self employed, which means they are not receiving any income/sick pay/support.

So hopefully this is where we come in. Please know that the family are totally unaware of this page - it's all on me (sorry!) Ian is a naturally private man but in the end, it takes a village to raise a child and it takes a community to help a family in need.

If you have just a few pennies to spare, then please send what you can. They will certainly need more than the initial £5000 support but let's see what we can raise for now.

Thank you so much in advance,

    Sherrilyn - Bev's mate ❤️
