Story

The BGR hardship fund has been created to offer financial support to black women, non-binary people and girls who would like to explore their potential in rugby.

Over the last three years Anne and Lamees have been hosting a podcast called Black Girls Ruck, a podcast that is goverened by sharing experiences with the hope that it can enhance the lives of those that listen. Whilst having these important and challenging conversations it is apparent that one of the main hurdles black women have to face when embarking on their rugby dream is the cost. The costs of match subs, club membership, boots, shorts, socks, shirts and a whole host of important imenities we need as black women to feel safe and comfortable in a new enviroment.

We are hoping with your generous donations and support we can begin to help those that need it most. No amount is too big or too small as we begin to grow a world where black people can continue to survive and thrive in rugby.

The hardship fund will be available from November 2023 to help cover the following costs;

Match Subs

Partial contribution to annual club membership

Contributions to purchases of rugby boots, and apparel for games

Contribution towards rugby related training such as coaching and refereeing courses.
