In lieu of flowers- We would like to raise funds to support the Pinderfields Spinal Unit and Spinal Unit Recreational Fund (SURF) in the Memory of Andrew Worley.

Andrew spent long periods of his time at Pinderfields following his accident and in recent years was admitted for several long stints to battle health problems. The unit provided my sister and I with many more chances to create memories with our Dad and kept us all as optimistic as possible in the process.

Those encountered during our visits were always a collection of truly remarkable individuals (staff and patients alike) displaying an unimaginable amount of strength. If we were to take any positives (as my Dad would have done) it would be the special and unique friendships forged here all at such a terrible time. Isabel and I will always be incredibly grateful to these people for providing him with as much comfort and care as they possibly could whilst he was there.

The ward itself admits those facing an unthinkable time in their life as a result of, like my Dad, a terrible accident or unfortunate event that has changed their life forever. We have therefore chose this cause to collect donations in order to enable us to give something back to the unit that gave Andrew and ourselves so much and to assist them with any future plans.
