Story
Alfie’s Project
I’d like you to meet Alfie - my son…. along with his sister, he is one of the lights in my life, and it is on his behalf that I have set up this Just Giving page.
A Little About Alfie
Alfie was born with a severe heart defect which limits what he can do physically. Despite several major operations, at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, he still needs constant supervision and help to get around.
He is a bright, funny and determined young boy however, and has attended school regularly but is limited to part time attendance.
Being 11 now, he is due to start secondary school and is enthusiastic to begin the next journey of his life, but he needs a motorised wheelchair in order to be able to access classrooms which may be on different floors and long distances apart.
Unfortunately the school is unable to fund the £4,000.00 needed for the chair and there is no government funding to support us financially with this purchase. On top of this, the clock is ticking with the start of a new school year looming.
September Deadline
I work for FrameXpress Ltd, which is a Telford based company that has a strong sense of community and over the years, we have been a great supporter of both local and national charities.
I have worked for the company for a long time - its a great team and they are very supportive of many events that have been championed along the way.
Getting Involved
The whole team has decided to get involved over the Spring and Summer by developing a number of events to help raise the £4,000 needed by September, which is when Alfie starts school. Any extra funds raised will be donated to the charity whizz kids.Alfie.
So, I am asking for companies, customers and local support as I hope to raise the funds necessary for the motorised chair.
I really do hope that you will be inspired to help us all.
