Story

Earlier this month one of my peers but more importantly friends, Adam (Wrestler – Alexander Grey) suffered a life changing injury whilst performing. This left him with an open fracture of the jaw, a puncture to the face, a ripped lip and the loss of multiple teeth to name a few of the injuries. Unfortunately, even though he collected his teeth the medical staff were unable to put these back in.

Adam has been wrestling for 7 years so far and had some minor injuries, but this incident so far has required several hospital visits across 3 different hospitals, major surgery, multiple X-rays, several dozen stitches both in and out of his mouth, nerve damage and his jaw is currently being held together by a mixture of titanium and steel.

This has put his entire life on hold including wrestling, hosting and his main job (where his job is quite literally to talk to and train people around the UK) where he will receive no income bar SSP. During the first 6 weeks he is unable to chew any food to prevent any further complications in healing and he is hoping to be able to use a straw from next week.

As Adam is technically allowed to fly, he has not been able to cancel/move his trip to Canada in November which was booked and fully paid for 5 months ago and would not be able to claim this on his travel insurance.

Only once his jaw has healed can he then look to replace the teeth (which cannot be completed by the NHS) and this on top of the loss of earnings from work is going to set him back several thousand pounds, not something anyone would want to have to go through, especially under the age of 40.

Adam is one of the most polite, humble and hardworking people I have ever had the pleasure to train and perform with and his kindness to people in need I can testify to first hand. I know he would never want to ask anyone for help from a financial standpoint but after speaking with him (via text), I can understand the volume of stress and anxiety that he has already endured and will be facing over the next few months.

Adam has been overwhelmed by the amount of kind and considerate messages and support received so far from everyone and seems determined that this is something that he will eventually bounce back from stronger than before, which I have no doubt he will do.

Sorry for rambling on and I appreciate everyone has their own things going on, but any donations at all would be massively appreciated to support Adam on his journey back to a (new) normal life.
