    Story

The (A) Centre is a new radical working class social space, library and reading room that has recently been secured by not-for-profit Just Learning Ateneo: Labour History, Heritage and Co-operation in Belfast.

Premises have been secured in the city centre which we are currently working to transform into a much needed resource for working class communities and activists of all backgrounds - promoting working class heritage, co-operation, self-education and solidarity. At a time when division seems as stark and entrenched as ever Belfast‘s working class is in need of such a space.

We need to raise an additional £3k to complete work kitting out the library and putting in a new floor. Help us achieve that goal and open the centre as soon as possible. Watch this space.

We have reached our original target of £3000 thanks to your solidarity and support! We had just extended the deadline for the crowdfunder before meeting our target so we are going to let it run and have increased the initial target from £3000 - £3500 which will help us do that bit more to get the space open ASAP. Many thanks again to everyone who has supported us whether here on this crowdfunder, organising benefits and gigs, donating books, driving vans, moving stuff, voluntary labour or in numerous other ways.
