Story
I'm raising £4,000 to pay for 750 distemper vaccines for the dogs at Zeus Nakulu dog shelter.
I was lucky enough to visit Bhutan in September. During our visit, we found a Lucy, a dog that looked very skinny and her hair had fallen out. We asked our guide who we could contact to get help for her as the local community feeding them were unable to provide medical assistance.
Our kind guide, Sangay, contacted Zeus Nakulu dog shelter and in less than a day they came for her and provided her with medicine, food and shelter.
At the end of the trip, I met with Norbu who explained to me his love for dogs and how he viewed them as family. Him and his best friend decided to dedicate their lives to helping dogs and founded Zeus Nakulu dog shelter, named after his dog Zeus. They work jobs and put all their funds into the dog shelters to provide medical assistance and a safe place for them. But now, they need extra help due to the large amount of doggies in their shelter.
In Bhutan, most dogs are sterilised and fed. But, as they are community dogs, it is difficult to find help to assist them medically. I am now working with Nakulu Zeus dog shelter to try to raise approximately $5,300 needed to vaccinate the approx 750 dogs they have in their Paro (approx 325 doggies) and Thimphu (approx 425 doggies) shelters. This is much needed as it could be fatal if any dog gets infected.
Whatever we raise, I will transfer to them via online banking as they are not able to use fundraiser tools in Bhutan. I will be covering the transfer fees from my pocket so they are able to get as much as possible. For more information on Zeus Nakulu dog shelter visit: https://zeusnakuludogshelter.org/

1 month agoThank you to everyone who has donated! We have passed 25%. If we can get to 50% it would be amazing as Norbu and the volunteers pay for the expenses from their pockets. Please share on your social media, with friends and family if you can! 580 dogs have been vaccinated so far and the rest will be vaccinated in the next few days. Thank you so so much 😻🙏🏼
