I am planning to do a sponsored walk the weekend of September the 9th and 10th to raise money for The Florence Rose Room. My friend Cath's granddaughter Florence was born on the 30th September, 2019 but tragically passed away at 3 days of age from a rare metabolic disorder. Florence's parents, Ella and Ryan, have been fundraising since then to provide a bereavement room and garden at the RUH in Bath (where Florence was born and Ella is a Staff Nurse). Now that The Florence Rose Room has been given the go ahead the idea that I had back in 2020 can now come to fruition.

As I was working as a midwife at the RUH back then, I came up with the idea of walking from there, calling in at all the birthing centres before returning to Bath - a total of 55 miles. Rachel Coleman (Community Midwife) is going to join me on this journey and for parts of the walk Rose Jenkins Hunt, Lydia Carver, Cath, Ella and Ryan along with Goldie - Florence's little Sister. Our plan is to walk from the RUH to Chippenham then onto Trowbridge where we will stay in a tent overnight. The following day we will proceed on to Frome, then Paulton and back to the RUH.
