I am intending to paddle the Glasgow to Edinburgh Challenge* on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th October to raise funds for the 54th Oxford Ansar Scout group. This involves me paddling approximately 11 hours over the two days to complete the 55 mile circuit.

We have been successfully running the 54th Oxford Ansar Scout group for just over 13 years, and have seen the amazing impact Scouting has had on local children. As one of the leaders in the team, I am fully aware of the financial constraints we face as a result of the cost of living crisis. We already try to heavily subsidise costs and respective fees for Scout group activities and undertaking the Glasgow to Edinburgh Challenge to raise valuable funds is a way of helping provide valuable financial support for the 54th Oxford.

Scouting, to me, provides children with a range of experiences, both indoors and outdoors, that help them build life skills and acquire memories that last a lifetime! It is important to us that we can use the Scout group to provide such opportunities for all children. Your generous contribution, however small, will help this great association continue this work!!
