I'm raising £3000 to 2nd East London Scouts

The 2nd East London Scout Group is based on the Isle of Dogs and is currently the largest Scout Group in East London. We are always open to new members and opportunities within our community. We accept both boys and girls from 4 to 18 years old and at present we have one Beaver Colony, two Cub Packs, two Scout Troops and one Explorer Unit. As Tower Hamlets falls in one of the UK’s deprived boroughs, the Scout group allows children from all backgrounds to mix as equals. We believe very strongly in values such as kindness, sharing and volunteering is at the heart of what we do.
In the last years some of the activities undertaken including sailing, canoeing, camping, archery, climbing, air rifle shooting, first aid courses, building rope bridges, night hikes, problem solving, group challenges and lots of games. We are looking for funds to provide resources and activities to keep our group strong. As we operate in the London Boroughs with highest number of low-income families, we have many members that cannot afford such activities and we always subsidise them as much as we can.
For us to be able to continue to provide such good variety of educational activities to our young members, we need to ensure we have donations from generous donors, and we hope you can be one of them. Feel free to do a one-off donation to our page or set up monthly ones.
In return of your support, we pledge to plan the following community projects in the next 18 months:
• Complete at least 100 hours of community work within E14 such as litter picking, cake baking and food deliveries for the elderly. Our young troops can be often seen collecting rubbish around Mudchute park and surrounding areas, as well as Limehouse canals and banks of the river Themes.
• Organise many social and community events such as quiz nights, bingo nights, bake sales, hikes, etc.
• Continue to run our annual collections and sorting of children’s book for Bookbridge to create local libraries.
• Actively contributes to Neighbours in Poplar, visiting, donating and preparing food for vulnerable and elderly residents.
We shall post updates on our activates on regular basis, so you can see the difference we make to our neighbourhood and local community.
Please, share this page with family, friends, or work colleagues, and help us to reach our goal for 2022. Thank you in advance for your support and contribution 😊.
