Story
I am seeking sponsorship to undertake 28 swims in the North Sea between now and March to raise funds for 28 refugee families living in a squat in Athens.
I got to know many refugee families last year when I spent some time with their children reading and playing games as part of a local volunteer group. This volunteer group goes every week with food and lots of energy to give to the children of the squat to give them a break from the reality of their uncertain lives.
These families have no sources of income and rely on the kindness of folk to keep them supported with food. More often than not things like soap and shampoo are just not affordable. I will be going to Athens in the Spring, and with your help, it would be wonderful to give the families in the squat a supply of soap and shampoo and to contribute to the weekly food delivery.

6 years agoThe amazing news is that we raised over £3000 for food for these kiddos. I went to see them earlier this week and lots of new faces and some old friends too. Thanks to all your support and funding there is the security of knowing that there will be a good supply of food for at least the next three months. Thank you.
