I've raised £2000 to help raise funds for the various hospital units and people that were there for my family and friends in their fight against Cancer

Having recently lost my brother to cancer and not being able to go to his funeral I wanted to do something to fight back. My brother is missed terribly but the latest in a long line of loved ones I have lost to this disease.
Since January I have lost three stone ( intentionally) and have now regained a fair level of fitness. Approaching the age of 60, I thought my running days were over but it was a welcome by product of the weight loss, and decided to run for a reason instead of recreation.
I intend to walk and run 100km in five days to raise much needed funds for those units on the frontline against this menace.
So beginning on the 10th May I intend to walk 15km a day and run 5km a night for five days consecutively to raise money to help the specific people which treated the people I'm running for.
Each day I will run and walk for a specific person. I will wear a top with their image upon with a small precis of what they meant to me during the 5km run in the evening. I will listen to their favourite songs and celebrate the mark they made on the world and myself in particular as I do the run.
I feel I have to try and do something to fight back against this terrible disease or at least alleviate in some small way the suffering so many people are going through in their own personal battles.
I will raise any monies through this just giving page and the old school method of a sponsorship form.
Please stand with me and help in this fight against cancer. Thank you.
