Wilmslow Half Marathon · 24 March 2019
A devastating rise in homelessness has led to more than 500 people sleeping rough on the streets of Greater Manchester every night. Many local charities do wonderful things to help alleviate the most acute impacts of this crisis - but they need support to be able to continue providing these services.
That's why 10 colleagues from Croftons Solicitors have decided to run the Wilmslow Half Marathon this March in an effort to raise money for the Cornerstone Safe Haven Project in south Manchester.
The project (part of the wider Caritas Diocese of Salford charity) supports destitute and entrenched rough sleepers, providing 10 portacabin 'pods' that offer a roof and a bed for 24 of Manchester's most vulnerable people.
The project also provides access to basic services such as a shower, laundry, breakfast, and evening meals, and support staff also work with the rough sleepers to address the reasons why they became homeless and help them get back on their feet and off the streets.
The project urgently needs money to stay open.
Please dig deep in support of our runners and the Safe Haven Project!
