CPMG Charity Challenge 2020, 12 September 2020

Story

Welcome to the CPMG Charity Challenge 2020 in 2022!

Ever since 2009, when over 40 people completed the gruelling 42 mile Lyke Wake Walk, raising over £3,500 for Breast Cancer Care, the CPMG Architects Ltd charity walk has become an annual event, well supported by individuals and businesses across the East Midlands, to raise funds for local charities.

Having delayed and then cancelled the Charity Challenge 2020 due to the global pandemic, we are excited to bring the event back as the Charity Challenge 2020 in 2022! Taking place on Saturday 10th September 2022, this remains the planned circular walk starting in Baslow, and taking in 29 miles of the glorious Peak District, including Curbar Edge, the plague village of Eyam, Monsal Dale, Lathkill Dale, Haddon Hall and the Chatsworth Estate, before winding up at outside the pub back at Baslow, for a well-earned pint! As ever, the walk will be supported by our now-famous mobile tuck shop to keep all the walkers topped-up with food and fluids!

Fundraising for CASY

This year we have chosen to fund-raise in support of CASY, a Newark based registered charity dedicated to promoting and preserving the mental and emotional health of children and young people throughout Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. They achieve this by providing confidential counselling to young people aged 6 to 25, either from their Newark office, in schools across the two counties or from a growing number of community venues. In addition, they also provide emotional well-being workshops and training aimed at improving the emotional resilience and decision-making of children and young people.

At CPMG. we feel strongly that young people should have the support they need to help them through challenging times as they grow up, and we are therefore aiming to raise in excess of £2,500 to support this fantastic charity - please help us to help them by donating generously if you can.

CASY is a charity, set up in 1998 to support the emotional wellbeing of children and young people across Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. We work with anyone from the age of 6 to 25 by offering a confidential 1-to-1 counselling service. The young people we support come to us with a variety of presenting issues including: anxiety, low self-esteem, self-harming behaviour, attachment problems and suicidal thoughts. Our support and intervention work is essential to help restore a more stable emotional health platform from which the young person is able to grow. This helps to define the sense of self-worth, provides confidence, independence and resilience.
