Story
Growing up I struggled a lot with a variety of mental health issues. My parents tried everything, I saw at least 10-15 therapists, attended different schools, and eventually at age 12 I was sent away to my first residential treatment center. I spent the next 6 years in and out of various programs. I went into these programs thinking they would fix me, but what I learned is that they were never intended to fix me. I was never broken I just needed to learn to love myself.
My Mental health is now my number one priority. A year and half ago, I decided I didn't want to be the kid who didn't care about his mental or physical health anymore. I started to set goals for myself, and one of those goals became running. Running has helped teach me to love every bit of myself. I am now onto my hardest challenge yet, running 200 miles in a trail race. When I complete it I will become the 2nd youngest person to ever complete a 200 mile trail run race. I am hoping to complete the race within 70 hours. My purpose in running this extreme distance is to help raise awareness for mental health. Which has led me to support CHRIS 180, because their mission is so important and they have so much impact in our community. They are dedicated to helping children, youth, adults and families overcome trauma and thrive with their mental health.
By supporting me you are directly helping thousands of individuals in Atlanta who are just like me.
