7 days, 7 castles, 225 miles and 5000m of ascent from Cardiff to Caernarfon - 5-12 Sept 2015

In 2013 I was diagnosed with breast cancer.  After finishing 10 months of treatment - surgery, chemo and radiotherapy, I was offered a place on the Odyssey Challenge.

I was so inspired having spent a week with the Odyssey team that I wanted to support them and give something back.  They are an amazing team and it was the most fantastic experience.  Meeting up with other people recovering from or going through their treatment, was both inspiring, motivating and life-affirming.

Cancer is tough but if you can survive the Challenge you can come back with new found friends and the strength to deal with whatever life is going to throw at you.

Since finishing treatment last year it's given me something to aim for and a reason to get back into fitness.  Not always easy when dealing with the after effects of cancer treatment.

The Odyssey Castle to Castle Bike Ride starts at Cardiff castle and follows the challenging National Cycle Route (Sustrans Route 8) to the World Heritage Site of Caernarfon Castle.  We'll be covering a total of 225 miles and spending the nights camping or in bunkhouses.

I'm covering the cost of the trip but need to raise the minimum of £725 from sponsorship and fundraising.
