Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I hadn't seen my aunt for many years but when I heard that she didn't have long to live I knew I had to go and see her to say goodbye. I was deeply saddened to see what cancer had done to her, she was always larger than life and although her strong personality and strength of will were still there, her body had been reduced to a bag of bones. The ladies in the hospice did their best to make her last few weeks the best they could (although they couldn't provide the egg sandwich she so desperately wanted :) ) she still managed to cause them grief because she didn't want to take the tablets that made her feel worse. I saw an advert in a magazine whilst recovering from a knee operation to do a Trek for Marie Curie and thought I would try my best to raise some money so that the good work done by those that care for the terminally sick can continue. Let's just hope the knee operation has worked :)
Now by a stroke of bad luck my dad has been diagnosed with terminal cancer as well so twice the incentive to raise money for these wonderful people who help so many
There are a lot of people asking for money these days so I am holding a number of events that I hope people will enjoy to raise the money, hopefully these will give something back to the people donating as well as helping to keep the fabulous care provided by the nurses. They need to raise £10,000 every hour of every day to carry on their great work and although my Trek is only a very small part of this I hope people will give generously
