When I was 8 years old I lost my beautiful grandmother Maria, and then only two years later my grandfather Len, both to lung cancer.
This utterly broke my heart and I still think of them every day, wondering what they would be like today, but knowing that they would be as loving as I remember them being.

The closer we can get to curing this horrible disease, the closer we can get to other little children not having to lose their family members prematurely.
