Story

Richard loved this railway.

From visits as a child to becoming a Trustee of the Association he spent as much time as he could riding the rails.

Rain or shine, warm or windy - every possible day off would find him with a cup of tea and a sausage bap standing on the platform at Hythe waiting for the train to arrive.

Gala days were a particular favourite when tickets would be booked as soon as they were released to ensure he could get on the non-stop trips hauled by the two-three or more engines.

His sudden death has been a terrible to shock to us - his friends and fellow Trustees. He will be greatly missed and raising some money for this lovely charity in his name is a great way to remember him
