We build electric eco-fences in Africa to protect Africa's threatened ecosystems

Story

This year car 38, Team Bundu Fundi, are back to compete in their 22nd consecutive Rhino Charge. Little did we know back in 1996 that we would still be Charging two decades later!

The Rhino Charge supports the Rhino Ark charitable trust which develops sustainable solutions to the challenges facing mountain forest ecosystems and threatened biodiversity areas in Kenya. Not only does the trust aim to protect wildlife and its environment, but also aims to benefit surrounding communities who suffer from human-wildlife conflict.

The 400-kilometer fence around the Aberdare mountain range is now complete but we now need to build up an 8 million US dollar trust fund so that the fence can be maintained indefinitely. Rhino Ark are also turning their attentions to the protection of the forests of Mount Kenya and Mount Eburu so there is much work still to be done…

Please help us in supporting the goals of this fantastic charity, which are so important to Kenya, its people and its wildlife. The Aberdares is a magical place that we are all very fond of-please dig deep and help us to preserve it! Many thanks - Sean, Patrick, Kieran, Harry, Alan, and James.

Donating through this site is fast and secure and is the best way to support our fundraising efforts. If you are a UK taxpayer 28% will be added to the value of your donation at no extra cost to yourselves, which is a real bonus!

Rhino Ark raises money for the building of electric eco-fences around mountain ecosystems in Kenya, namely Aberdare National Park, Mt. Kenya and Mau Eburu. These provide an "ark" for wildlife such as rhino, leopard, elephant and mountain bongo as well as protecting vital upland watertables of Kenya
