Story
Over 50% of India's children live in extreme poverty. Access to basic education is often very limited, and where communities are already receiving help, creativity and inspiration are too often neglected.
Which is why this summer, for the second time, seven of us are bringing a new music theatre performance to children in orphanages, slums, hospitals, and special needs centres in India.
We are all students of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, the Guildhall School, and Bournemouth Film School, three of the world's top leading performance colleges. We are proud to be able to share the ongoing results of our outstanding artistic training with many children around the world whose access to live art is very limited.
At Wind-Up Penguin, we believe every child on this planet should have access to the crucial elements of a healthy childhood: laughter, stories, games, and a safe space to play and be creative.
We will be sharing music, theatre, and creative workshops with children from the poorest parts of Mumbai, Goa, Hyderabad, and Chennai, from the 19th of July ro the 10th of August 2017.
Our company is run entirely by students and young graduates. We fund these projects ourselves, which is why we're asking for YOUR help now. Any donation, even the smallest, will help enormously towards covering our costs for flights, accommodation, transport, and props and costumes for the performances.
Thank you. From Wind-Up Penguin, but most importantly, from the children.

At Wind-Up Penguin, we have been bringing music theatre for the past five years to children in Romania, Bulgaria, Colombia, Brazil, Peru, India, Germany, and Belgium. We've performed to over 10000 children in orphanages, hospitals, special needs centers, rural schools, and refugee centers, and don't intend on stopping anytime soon!
