Story
Welsh Hearts and the Football Association of Wales have formed a partnership to deliver lifesaving defibrillators, equipment and training to all football clubs in Wales.
This groundbreaking partnership between Welsh Hearts and the FAW will mean that every football club in Wales , no matter how big or small, every player and every spectator will have access to a life saving defibrillator should the worst happen.
You can donate as little or as much as you want in the knowledge that every pound raised will be used to purchase a lifesaving defibrillator and provide equally important CPR/defibrillator training. There are currently hundreds of club grounds, some of which accommodate a number of teams, which do not have any of this life saving equipment. Research shows that over 90% of sudden cardiac arrests in young athletes happen either during or immediately after exercise and those with an inherited heart condition can be up to three times as likely to suffer a sudden cardiac arrest if they participate in intensive or strenuous exercise. For every minute without CPR and defibrillation, a person’s chance of survival decreases by around 10 per cent. A defibrillator is an automatic device that can be used by the public to shock the heart back into a normal rhythm during cardiac arrest. By performing CPR and using a defibrillator until an ambulance arrives, you can help double the victim’s chance of survival.
So Join Wales leading Heart Charity and the FAW , the national Football Union of Wales and help safeguard our footballers and spectators.
