Story
Vulcan XH558's Survival Plan Due to the airport's growing success with air cargo, the Trust has temporarily lost its ability to conduct public tours and events, the main source of its funding. For safekeeping, XH558 has been moved into what is a bonded stores warehouse, sadly not a location accessible by the public. The Trust has radically shrunk its organisation to reflect this reduced income, but has also suffered a cash shortfall due to the sudden loss of this tour and event income for 2017. This campaign is to raise £200,000, which alongside the restructured organisation, will place the Trust into a financially-sustainable position until a new purpose-built hangar and visitor centre is opened in early 2018.
Philanthropists double public donations. Half of this appeal has been promised as matched-funding by a group of philanthropists against donations from XH558’s supporters. Thanks to the generosity of these individuals, every pound you give will be doubled up to £100,000.
Should we exceed the target, then that’s even better The sooner we reach our £100,000 donation target, the sooner we can be sure that XH558 is safe. Should your generosity allow us to exceed our £100,000 target at the end of March, any extra funds will allow us to add to our core plans for safeguarding XH558. Then she can emerge from hibernation all the more quickly, which we hope could include making preparations for engine ground runs and taxying.
Our sincere thanks go to those that have contributed in any way towards the total.
