Story
Viva is passionate about releasing children from poverty and abuse worldwide.
We build locally-led networks of churches and organisations that deliver collective action programmes designed to tackle the root causes of problems affecting children.
Maya is one child we've helped in Nepal. Her parents didn't have enough money to buy uniform or materials and she regularly missed school to help at home. She was bottom of her class.
Then Maya started regularly attending a Child Development Centre (CDC) run by our partner network. CDC's are after-school programmes providing a safe place for children to do homework and develop social skills.
Maya loved it and slowly things changed. She was awarded a scholarship, meaning her family could afford for her to go to also go to school every day. She worked hard and... this year was top of her class!
By running the marathon you can support us in helping children like Maya to grow up safe, well and able to fulfil their God-given potential.
