Story
The well-being of young people is at its lowest level in nearly a decade. More young people are struggling to cope at school or work, suffering from a lack of self-confidence and because of that, many don’t believe that they can change their circumstances.
UKSA is a youth charity that uses the power of the sea to change lives. We address the needs of young people in two ways. First, we deliver programmes focussed on improving key life skills for young people, including confidence, coping, communication and teamwork. Second, we work with employers to train young people to the standard needed across the industry – from teaching watersports in the Mediterranean to skippering some of the most famous superyachts in the world.
It’s thanks to UKSA’s donors and partners that these training courses are available to both self-funding students and young people in more difficult circumstances.Opportunities Afloat will specifically offer funded places to school children under the age of 16 who wouldn't normally be able to attend a residential training programme with UKSA.
With your help to Opportunities Afloat we can involve at least 100 more young people in our training programmes, building skills that will set them up for the transitions and challenges ahead.Thank you for raising funds for UKSA.
