The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileFormer England Rugby Captain and founder of The Foundation, Lewis Moody is taking on his next mega challenge – a bespoke triathlon to raise over £50,000.
This 4 day bespoke triathlon will see Lewis and the team tackle a demanding journey through the ‘Grand Canyon of Europe’ by kayak and on foot before cycling over 200km to the south coast of France. Not to be taken lightly, this endurance triathlon will test the teams physical limits as they conquer multiple disciplines on their way to the finish line.
Every penny the team raises through sponsorship will be funding PNET5, a pioneering clinical trial which aims to tailor treatments for children improving quality of life while maintaining positive survival effects. Many children with brain tumours will have to live the rest of their lives with the life limiting side effects from their aggressive chemotherapy or radiotherapy treatment, including loss of balance, blindness or severe problems with hearing.
£2,000 can cover the cost for a child with a medulloblastoma brain tumour to have a biomarker test to see how aggressive their treatment will need to be. If they have a lower risk tumour they will be treated with a reduced dose of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, which will have less impact on their overall quality of life.
This trial could have a life changing impact on the lives of many children.
