Story
Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and teenagers in the UK. Early diagnosis can reduce long-term disabilities and save lives.
HeadSmart is a multi-award-winning, UK-wide child health awareness campaign, funded and promoted by The Brain Tumour Charity and run in partnership with Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre (CBTRC) and the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH).
HeadSmart is reducing diagnosis times of childhood brain tumours by informing and empowering parents, teenagers and healthcare professionals to recognise the signs and symptoms. The campaign has already helped to reduce average diagnosis times from 13 weeks to 6.5 week. And we now want to see diagnosis times reduced to 4 weeks or less.
