Visit the charity's profileHelp us Challenge the Impossible in Teach First's 15th year. Educational inequality is a daily challenge for the children we work with.
In the UK today, 3.5 million children are growing up in poverty. Our most disadvantaged pupils start school with a 15-month gap in vocabulary between them and their wealthier peers, and this gap widens throughout their lives. Only 50% of pupils who receive free school meals get any GCSE’s above a D grade, and the odds of them going to Oxford or Cambridge are a staggering 2000:1. We refuse to accept that that disadvantage determines destiny and are working to make education fair for all children by building a movement of leaders who are working to transform our education system.
But we can’t do it alone. Your support will help us run programmes that support young people to access top universities and build key employability skills that accelerate social mobility.
