Story
For ten weeks Worcester’s streets, parks and open spaces will be brought to life by giraffes. Individually designed, beautifully created, majestic giraffes as you’ve never seen them before!
Over 25 huge giraffe sculptures will be towering over residents and visitors for Worcester Stands Tall – a Wild in Art event brought to the city by St Richard’s Hospice.
Worcester Stands Tall will see at least 25 individually designed, beautifully created, 2.5m tall giraffe sculptures appearing throughout the city’s streets, parks and open spaces, inspiring residents and visitors to uncover the city’s cultural gems and discover areas they may not have explored before.
At the end of the project the sculptures will be auctioned to raise vital funds for the free on-going care and support offered by St Richard’s Hospice for people affected by life-limiting illnesses in Worcestershire.
The giraffes will be joined by at least 25 baby giraffe sculptures – smaller, but crafted just as creatively, by students and teachers in local schools. The baby giraffes will be displayed in the centre for the 10 weeks during the trail.
Worcester Stands Tall is supported by presenting partners Worcestershire Ambassadors and Crowngate and education partner West Midland Safari Park.
