"A chance to share stories, to laugh, to support and be supported, " is one patient's view of St Richard's Men's Space group, dedicated to helping men live life to the fullest in spite of their illness. The group is just one aspect of the wide range of expert care and support offered at no charge to our patients and families.
Bryan Hodgkins has prostate cancer and joins the weekly Men's Space get-together to take part in activities such as gardening, talks, and outings. He says the group , “gives us all a break from the serious business of life, but we have the opportunity to share our problems if we want to.”
Group members can also be supported from other St Richard’s services including benefits advice, counselling, complementary therapies and time with specialist doctors and nurses. By taking part in Go Dad Run you will be helping us make sure hospice care and support is there for men on good days, difficult days and last days.
