The New Kit Appeal which aims to raise £140,000 to enable us to purchase vital pieces of equipment for our hospitals, including:
A Portable EchoMachine– used to perform a non-invasive ultrasound examination which enables doctors to gain information about the size and function of the hearts chambers. It is an important tool which will be used across many departments. Cost: £40,000
Two Renal Dialysis Machines – used to treat 330 patients seen at St George’s three times a week through its haemodialysis programme. Cost: £22,000
A Fibroscanner – used to measure the degree of inflammation in the liver through a 20 minute non-invasive, painless assessment. Cost: £45,000
A Fetal Endoscopy Set - used to improve the lung function of a fetus when the diaphragm has failed to form, preventing the lungs from developing properly. Cost: £25,000
32 Telesensors – used to provide automatic alerts of inactivity, falls and other risks - giving patients improved levels of safety independence. Cost: £8,000
