Story
We would like to invite you to take part in #afternoonteaweek from 14th to 20th August this year.
Whether it’s a Mad Hatter extravaganza or a calm and cool cucumber sandwich affair, you can put your own spin on this fine tradition! They money raised will go towards helping people like Andrew.
Andrew was originally referred to Step by Step after being street homeless for 3 weeks. Prior to this, Andrew had lived with his Mum, Step-Dad and siblings and when the relationship broke down Andrew moved to his Nan’s. Due to Andrew’s mental health issues, this too broke down. Since living with Step by Step, Andrew has had the time and space required in order to gain his independence and live in his own bedsit. This has helped him re-establish contact with his Mum and Nan, to the point where Andrew was able to attend both family homes for Christmas.
Andrew has now progressed to Supported Lodgings and is doing well in his placement.
Step by Step believe in supporting local young people who are going through hard times. We take a unique step by step approach, providing accommodation, personal development opportunities, and specialist support services, to help young people realise their ambitions and put in place the steps they need to take to reach their full potential.
We can only provide our services thanks to the generosity of the many people who believe in young people as much as we do and donate towards our work. Please help us this #afternoonteaweek and help young people build a brighter future for themselves.
Young people. Hard times. Bright Futures.
