Could you help a girl like Jessie fulfil her potential?
“I was very angry and frustrated, I thought a door to my dream of becoming a medical doctor in future is being closed. I gave up on being in position one but now I believe with this kit I will concentrate in class and I will still become a medical doctor”. Jessie Kabisa, standard 8 pupil at Kaputu school.
Every child has a right to education. Can you imagine missing out on school or work every month, because of your period?
Could you give a girl in Malawi a re-usable sanitary kit and help her to stay in school when she has her period?
Just £4 buys a girl a re-usable sanitary kit and affords her the freedom many of us take for granted.
In preparation for International Women’s Day (March 8th 2018), we would like to help 500 girls in Malawi stay in school by providing them with re-usable sanitary kits.
Could you help us reach our £2000 target by making a donation today?
Without sanitary protection the vast majority of girls and women in Malawi are confined to their homes during menstruation and unable to participate in everyday activities. Therefore female students miss up to one quarter of school time, often including vital end of year exams, because of their menstrual cycle.
By teaching local communities how to produce the packs, GATEWAY strives to empower local women to take their future, and the futures of their daughters, into their own hands.
Thank you for helping to make a real difference in the lives of these girls.
