Story
Every child deserves an education.
Without an education opportunities in Uganda are bleak. With your help, Starchild has built a School for Creative Arts in Vvumba, Uganda. This project has introduced children to the benefits of creative arts. We also work with vulnerable children at The Mango Tree School, Jinja. The children we support need our help to attend school. When we started working with the school’s we support there was hardly a pencil let alone a paint brush in the classrooms. Starchild needs to continue to provide scholastic materials, art materials, uniforms and school fees so that every child we work with can fulfil their dream of an education and hopes for a brighter future.
Where you money is going
In order to continue to help these vulnerable children we need to raise £10,715
Here’s the breakdown of some of those expenses.
£250 a year per child to attend secondary school approx 11 children per term are moving to secondary = £2,750
£120 per month x 12 x 4 teachers salaries = £5,760
£500 per year book, pens, pencils
£5 per uniform x 250 children = £1,250
£500 art supplies and materials
Total = £10,715 per year
Why Starchild
Starchild was set up by Michaela Foster Marsh in memory of her adopted Uganda brother Frankie Marsh. Frankie sadly died in a house fire in Glasgow at 27yrs. Since then, Starchild has transformed the lives of vulnerable children, women, school, children’s homes and individuals. Starchild is supported by a dedicated board, local artists and friends. What we have achieved so far is amazing but we need your continued helped to support our projects. This Christmas, we hope you will support us in anyway you can and continue to be part of this amazing story.
