Story
Simon Holliday will be attempting a solo swim circumnavigation of Hong Kong Island on Nov.11, 2017. The swim will raise money for Splash Foundation, Hong Kong’s only charitable organisation that uses swimming to empower and connect under-resourced communities through free learn-to-swim and water safety programs.
The HK360 Swim, if successful, will set a new world record for swimming the 45 kilometres around Hong Kong Island unassisted and without stopping. With tides, currents, marine traffic and potentially adverse weather conditions the swim will take anywhere between 13 and 18 hours. The swim will start and conclude at Sai Wan Swimming Shed near Kennedy Town.
Since 2015, Splash has run 42 programmes, teaching over 700 beneficiaries how to swim. Help HK360 and Simon Holliday raise HK$1,000,000, to help 5,000 people learn how to swim by 2020!
