Story
SUFC, South East and Central Essex Mind, Arthur J. Gallagher and ENS Recruitment are doing it to raise awareness on positive mental health and how physical activities can help ease symptoms of anxiety and depression. This event has been dedicated in memory to Ray Davy, an ex-director of SECE Mind and avid local supporter of positive mental health. Ray, who had worked at Southend United Football club for a staggering 63 years, passed away in January aged 88. He is dearly missed and SECE Mind are thankful for everything he did to support their charity.
SECE Mind are the leading mental health charity in this region who provide support for residents of South East and Central Essex including Southend and Chelmsford.
Kristina Stazaker, development manager of SECE Mind says “This event has never been attempted to our knowledge before and we wanted to do something unique and that would get noticed in our community. We want to beat the blues and working with SUFC couldn’t be any more perfect for this! We are going to beat the seats and we need your support and encouragement”. The donation pages opened on Saturdays match against Rotherham where the SECE Mind team had a photoshoot on the pitch to kick-start the event.
Please donate £5 to help people in our region overcome their mental health issues. SECE Mind have been delivering mental health services in this region for over 50 years and provide supported housing, counselling, training and advice and signposting services.
