Story
It is with the very heaviest of hearts that we let you know that Jossie passed away in the early hours of Sunday morning. She’d been feeling pretty well over the last few weeks and was so excited to travel to Manchester to see her grandparents. Though she suddenly became very tired and unresponsive and it was discovered the disease had spread to her organs. Although we never expected to lose Jossie in this way, we take great comfort that she passed away so quickly under her cherished Captain America blanket without any pain, fear or suffering. Both me and Stew were by her side, as we had been every day for the last 2 years. In a bizarre twist of fate, the hospital was on the same road as the pub in Manchester where Stew and I met 15 years ago, and where our journey as a family started.
It is almost a year ago to the day that we found out Jossie relapsed. We knew then that it was going to be very difficult to cure her. Yet, she really gave it her all. We all did. And we could never have made it this far without the love, support and generosity of our family and friends. There will undoubtedly be an enormous Jossie shaped hole in our lives forever, and we can’t begin to imagine how we will ever adjust to life without her. We are immensely proud that the world was a far brighter place for the 6 years she was in it and, despite the cards she was dealt, she was always happy, simple as that. Though, for now, this little super champ is needed for bigger and better things elsewhere.
