We’ll be there to help you meet your fundraising targets and to make the most out of your marathon experience. Our support package includes:
- a dedicated marathon coordinator
- training and fundraising packs
- a St John Ambulance running vest
- a monthly e-newsletter
- cheers of support from the St John Ambulance team at our dedicated cheering point – including our 1,400 volunteers who will be providing first aid on the day
- an information day in January to prepare you for the race
- a post-race reception on race day with refreshments, a massage and goody bags just a few minutes' walk from the finish line
How your fundraising saves lives
£4: can give a child a 60-minute first aid lesson in school
£7: can run one of our ambulances for a day
£25: allows us to equip someone with the first aid skills to save a life
£40: can train a volunteer to give first aid at events e.g football matches & concerts
£60: can provide a volunteer with the kit they need to save a life
£80: could cover the operational costs of a first aid response unit for one hour
£100: can train a young person to teach other young people in essential first aid skills
£120: could pay for a St John Ambulance trainer to teach first aid to a class of 32 children
£150: could pay for a training mannequin, used to teach resuscitation (CPR)
£300: could pay for a full day’s training for a group of 12
£600: could train one of our first aid trainers to teach others lifesaving skills
£1,000: could pay for an automated external defibrillator (AED), which can prove vital to the resuscitation process following a cardiac arrest
