Story
The number of students leaving care to enter higher education is extremely low compared to other young people, with just six per cent of care leavers entering some form of higher education against a national average of 34 per cent.
Sheffield Hallam University has led the way in supporting a growing number of UK students who are care leavers - amongst the highest of any university in the UK - and in 2014 the Care Leavers Fund was launched to ensure that more students from foster care backgrounds can get the financial support and security they need to transform their lives through university education.
Over the past 2 years you have helped provide additional support to give our students the peace of mind to focus on their studies and personal lives without the added burden of financial pressure.
Your donation will ensure that we can continue to offer essential support to those who need it the most.
