Story
We need to get a move on - can you help?
We need to raise money for a deposit to purchase our own building.
Two decades of dedication
Since the charity was founded 20 years ago, Ryedale Special Families has provided a lifeline of support to over 550 Ryedale-based families with children, young people and young adults who have disabilities, additional needs and illness. We provide information, advice and guidance, social groups, flexible care and a wide range of family activities. The demands on our resources are ever-increasing. To provide even more support to families on your doorstep, we need help. Our current home in Malton has served us well but space is limited and we are unable to develop much-needed new facilities.
Pastures new
The answer is to find a new base with greater accessibility for the families we support, where we can create more facilities and develop new services. Some of the facilities we hope to provide include:
· space for fun activities for children and young people
· improved sensory area and specialist equipment
· improved kitchen facilities to teach young adults cooking skills
· accessible outdoors play area
· fully accessible spaces and changing facilities
· space to develop services for young adults
· comfortable meeting room for families
· offices for our staff
· parking for our accessible vehicles, staff and visitors
Help us build a brighter future
Daily life for many local families is a challenge because of having a child with a disability or additional needs. With your help, Ryedale Special Families can create a lasting legacy for the next 20 years – and beyond.
