Story
Thank you so much for supporting RNIB’s Talking Book Library. You will be helping to create a world without barriers for people with sight loss and continue the joy of reading for future generations.
Reading is an essential pleasure that many of us take for granted and is vital for our education, work and leisure. For people affected by sight loss, access to books is not equal as many books are not available in a format they can use. This means that many blind and partially sighted people often miss out on the latest excitement over a new bestseller.
Our much loved Talking Books service has been around for over 80 years and is enjoyed by nearly 50,000 people with sight loss across the UK. It is often described by members as a lifeline!
Watch our short film about Jessica who listens to our Talking Books here: https://youtu.be/ycUzKfosj34 Jessica was born with cataracts and her eyes get tired reading large print.
By raising £1,500, you can add a Talking Book to our Library. You can have a personal dedication on the book either recorded by you, or a professional narrator will read it, so that the Talking Book lives on in your name.
