Story
London 2 Africa
Over the years we’ve had a unique relationship with Africa, often sending young people from our mentoring schemes in London on life changing trips to build schools, social enterprises, homes and establish feeding programmes with the poor in African townships.
Regenerate is 18 this year. To mark the occasion we wanted to do something spectacular to highlight the link between our London base and Africa, and show that nothing is impossible for anyone in our London community.
So we decided to cycle down to Africa. Not some huge professional team tour. Just us on our bikes with some spare tyres, cycle helmets and the spirit to succeed. It’s our biggest and most ambitious fund raiser yet.
A small group of young people from the Roehampton estates along with a select bunch of Regenerate volunteers and supporters will have a life changing adventure together, overcome massive hurdles, grow in our self-belief, broaden horizons, and hopefully raise lots of money to support young people here in London as together we seek to make a difference in the world. As the ride is over 1300 miles, some will do it as part of a relay and some will be attempting to do it all!
Please join us in person for the first leg on April 14th, follow us on social media or through a financial donation here to help spur us on. Our fundraising target is BIG as is our challenge. Our target is to subsidise 100 young people from our London estates to get life changing opportunities where they are empowered to make an impact on those less fortunate than themselves.
Thanks so much from all at Regenerate and all trying to ride to Africa!!
