Story
More children and adults under 40 die of a brain tumour than from any other cancer. Yet research into therapies, and ultimately a cure, for brain tumours receives just 1% of all national spending on cancer research.
We are determined to attract the best minds into this area of cancer research, and for this we need funding.
Foram Dave has joined the team at Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry, which is also one of four Research Centres of Excellence supported by charity Brain Tumour Research. She brings a wealth of research experience gained in India and the UK.
Her work is of great importance especially for tumours where conventional chemotherapy is ineffective and current therapies like surgery have a negative impact on patients’ quality of life and survival.
Foram’s PhD costs £98k. With your support we can move faster and closer to a cure.
